Oprah Winfrey, as a celebrity, enjoys much adoration. Post her Golden Globe 2018 win and famous speech, her popularity surged even further, with people attempting to nominate her as the next presidential candidate.

 

This publication aims to offer critical insights into the thematic intricacies of the speech by providing a subjective evaluation of its structure, construction and delivery.
In summation, we wish to interrogate the contrast between what is emphasised and what is left unsaid. By doing this we hope to provide an alternative narration to our viewers, one that can help them consider it more deeply and critically.

Our collaborative work was screened for the “The After-Party Conference” at the Bakala Auditorium, Design Museum, London, as part of their "Hope to Nope - Graphics and Politics 2008-2018" Exhibition.
